15 April is Buddha’s Enlightenment Day. We celebrate this auspicious day by engaging in the Nyungnay Purification Ritual Practice.

Nyungnay is a special fasting and purification practice performed in conjunction with prostrations and prayers to Thousand-armed Avalokiteshvara, the nature of our Guru’s compassion. This is a very powerful method for purifying negativity of body, speech, and mind, and for pacifying delusions such as strong attachment and anger. It is also a special way of improving our minds of love, compassion, and receiving the compassionate blessings of Avalokiteshvara.

* You are welcome to join all or any of the sessions provided you receive the Mahayana Precepts at 6:30am on that day (during the 1st session of each day).

15 April (Saturday) – abstain from meals apart from lunch (vegetarian lunch will be available at the Centre, you can book when you make the online booking)

16 April (Sunday) –  abstain from meals apart from lunch or abstain from all food and drink for 24 hours (please choose whichever is suitable for you)
